Guernsey Library to host International Food Fest

NORWICH – The Guernsey Memorial Library will dish out a unique celebration of international foods during its International Food Festival, set to kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at its location on 3 Court Street in the City of Norwich.
The Guernsey Internation Food Festival is a celebration of ethnic cuisine cooked up for you by your Chenango County neighbors. A couple of dishes rumored to be in the works include haemul pajeon (a Korean-style shrimp-and-scallion pancake) and picadillo (stew enjoyed in various South American countries).
This year’s event was inspired by the Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Food Day celebrations. Food Day is being celebrated the week of Oct. 20–26 and is meant to encourage the movement toward more healthy, affordable, and sustainable food. The Library is out to prove that eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring. Come taste international dishes, take away delicious recipes and get inspired by your neighbors at the International Food Fest.
