City helps Label Gallery grow operation
NORWICH – The Label Gallery in the City of Norwich is bringing its operation to a higher level, thanks to the help of recent funding awarded by the City of Norwich.
The City of Norwich recently announced that it has received a $100,000 Community Development Block Grant through the New York State Office of Community Renewal. In turn, funding was administered to the Label Gallery by the city for purchase of a new digital printing press that will allow the company to fill orders more quickly and at a fraction of the cost by skipping the process of making metal printing plates.
Moreover, Label Gallery agreed to hire four additional full-time employees in trade of funding support, three of whom are already on board at the facility located on Lee Avenue.
Funding was administered via a $66,000 grant to Label Gallery from the city and $34,000 as a business loan to be repaid to the city at 1.5 percent over five years.
In a written statement, Norwich Mayor Joseph Maiurano said, “The city is proud to play a part in the Label Gallery’s growth and we greatly appreciate the company’s many contributions to the community.”
The Label Gallery is a leading manufacturer of consumer product labels and has been in business since 1933.
