Norwich Hall of Fame announces induction class
NORWICH – Scott Ryan, chairman of the Norwich High School Sports Hall of Fame committee, announces the 2014 induction class.
Entering as athletes are Frank Benenati (class of 1945); Ron Tyler (class of 1953), Don Manley (class of 1957), and Josh Morris (class of 1994). The 1990-1991 Norwich wrestling team will enter in the team category, while former Norwich athletics director, Jack Jones, earned induction status as a contributor.
“I continue to marvel at the stories that I have heard surrounding these great athletes, teams, and contributors, which are often reminiscent of the most riveting history lessons I ever sat through in college,” Ryan said. “This honor is about more than athletic superiority, it represents over 100 years of culture and traditions that Norwich athletics were built on. A huge thank you to Mr. Jim Dunne, who was instrumental in the formation and development of this committee.”
