BINGHAMTON – A season removed from a winless appearance at the Stop DWI Holiday Classic, Norwich may be the odds-on favorite after dismantling Greene Sunday afternoon at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Norwich’s reserves nearly matched Greene’s total scoring output, and it was play of reserve guards Chris Trevisani and Carlos Ithier that sparked a first-half getaway.
“Chris and Carlos are two of the better shooters on our team, and they’re our seven, eight, nine guys in the lineup,” said Norwich coach Tom Collier. “The full court press for four quarters and our depth are really the strengths of our team.”
Greene was within four points late in the first quarter when Ithier hit the first of his two threes to give NHS (5-0) an 11-4 lead after one period. That lead grew by leaps and bounds in a second quarter that Greene would like to forget.
