Three charged with larceny
NORWICH – Three individuals face a long list of felony charges following an investigation of more than $19,000 worth of merchandise stolen from a Town of Norwich business.
According to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Katherine Daniels and 31-year-old Quiana Thomas of Utica, and 24-year-old Courtney Hughes of the Town of Cold Brook, allegedly stole several Blu Ray movies and other expensive items from a store. Authorities say reports of theft occurred June 8, Jan. 19, and most recently on Jan. 21.
With assistance from the business’ loss prevention officers, Utica Police and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, all three defendants were located and taken into custody and arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court.
Hughes is charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree, a class D felony; one count of grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony; one count of conspiracy in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor; one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony; and one count of conspiracy in the sixth degree, a class B misdemeanor.
Thomas is charged of two counts of grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony; one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony; three counts of burglary in the third degree, a class D felony; two counts of conspiracy in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor; and one count of conspiracy in the sixth degree, a class B misdemeanor.
Daniels is charged with two counts of grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony; one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony; two counts of conspiracy in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor; and one count of conspiracy in the sixth degree, a class B misdemeanor.
All three were remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility – Hughes and Quiana on $20,000 cash bail and Daniels on $10,000 cash bail.
All three will reappear in court at a later date.
