Community Skate Party set for Saturday

NORWICH – The Norwich City Youth Bureau, in conjunction with the Chenango Health Network’s Tobacco Free Chenango Program and Beadle’s Earth Day Celebration, will host its annual “Community Skate Party” from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the Borden Avenue skating facility in Norwich.
Although warm weather forced organizers to cancel the event twice in the last two years, frigid temperatures this winter ensure that the skate party will go on, said Youth Bureau Director Robert Mason.
Saturday’s event will feature free food, drinks, skate rental, door prizes and DJ service. Tobacco Free Chenango will also be on hand to issue material that educates youth about the hazards of tobacco use and marketing.
The Norwich Community Skate Party is free and open to the public. For additional information, contact the City of Norwich Youth Bureau at 334-1206.
