Hanna announces re-election
UTICA – Congressman Richard Hanna officially announced that he will seek re-election in 2014.
Hanna made the announcement last night at the Republican 100,000 Club of Oneida County's Annual Dinner in Utica. The Republican 100,000 Club of Oneida County is a women's organization that engages in grassroots campaigning and fundraising to promote good government and elect members of the Republican Party.
"Career politicians and business as usual in Albany and Washington have held down upstate New York for too long,” Hanna said. “But my office is making progress by focusing on practical solutions and putting Upstate first. There is more work to be done to grow small business, support our farmers, better educate our children, and stand by our veterans and seniors. Together we can build a brighter future and revive upstate New York for our children and grandchildren. It is a privilege to serve our community and I will continue to work hard to earn its support.”
Hanna also reported raising $305,533 for the last campaign finance quarter of 2013, which ended on December 31. Hanna has more than $523,400 in the bank to aid his re-election effort for New York’s 22nd Congressional District.
Hanna was elected in 2010 and for 30 years was a business leader in upstate New York. He brings real life experiences to our nation's capital with a history creating jobs, growing a business and understanding how both the federal and state governments affect decisions of business owners.
The 22nd District includes all of Chenango, Cortland, Madison and Oneida counties and part of Broome, Herkimer, Oswego and Tioga counties.
