OXFORD – Oxford Academy Scholarship Program has announced its annual Phone-A-Thon will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Chairperson Kate Constantine announced the students of the National Honor Society will be manning the telephones from 1-5 p.m. and is asking for tax-deductible contributions for the cause.

With the ever-growing cost of college tuition coupled with the continuation of a lagging economy and long-time employers and industries leaving upstate New York, today's high school seniors are seeking out as many opportunities as possible to help supplement or defray some of the cost of higher education.
While in the past, pre-college academia consisted merely of studying and preparing for the departure to a new educational experience that would propel students into the future, the present reality often includes the added burden and stresses attributed to finding a way to pay for college.
The Oxford Academy Scholarship Program is a local, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that is staffed entirely by non-paid volunteers.
Students at Oxford Academy High have relied on community involvement to achieve their college goals over the years. The Oxford chapter of the Honor Society works in partnership with Scholarship America Dollars for Scholars.
