Sherburne fire quenched promptly

SHERBURNE – A working fire at a commercial building in the Village of Sherburne had several fire departments respond early Sunday morning.

According to Sherburne Fire Chief Vern Palmiter, a call was received by a passerby for a fire at Standard Printed Circuits, located at 44 S Main St., shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday. The Sherburne Fire Department arrived on the scene moments later.

“There was heavy smoke on the exterior of the building,” said Palmiter. Sherburne firefighters – assisted by departments from Earlville, North Norwich, Norwich and Hamilton – battled the fire from the interior of the building.

“Crews did a good job,” he said. “They were able to knockout the fire quickly and keep the damage to a minimum.”
