Greene's Klecha signs with James Madison

GREENE – Greene senior Katherine Klecha signed a national letter of intent to play field hockey at division one James Madison University Friday. Greene varisty field hockey head coach, Sue Carlin congratulated Katherine and thanked her family and friends for supporting her. “This is a tremendous opportunity for her, we’re very proud of her,” said Carlin.

JMU field hockey coach Christy Morgan ran camps and clinics in public speaking, and that is right up Katherines alley. “I took a course in public speaking last year and I feel like it helped me a lot, to develop as a person and gain confidence,” said Klecha. Her official visit to JMU is coming up soon and she is looking forward to meeting with the incoming freshman to connect and make friends.

Last years JMU Dukes field hockey team touted a CAA Defensive player of the Year and a CAA All-Rookie. Klecha plans to work hard and grow along with her teammates. Head coach Christy Morgan is returning to JMU athletics after a stint at Davidson and Wake Forest and is working to rebuild the program. Klecha is “very excited to be a part of something that is being rebuilt into something great,” she said.
