Edmeston Central brings ‘Guys and Dolls’ to life

EDMESTON – Rehearsals are underway for the 2014 Edmeston Central School’s musical theater production for this year’s showing of Guys and Dolls. Having earned its place amng the most well-loved classic musicals of all time, this romantic comedy is sure to excite audience members of all ages. Centered around bustling city life in 1940’s Manhattan, this romantic comedy is sure to excite audience members of all ages.

The plot revolves around four central characters: Sarah Brown, the upright, yet uptight “mission doll”, Sky Masterson, the suave, high-rolling gambler who courts her on a bet, Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub dancer, and Nathan Detroit, her fiancé of 14 years who is continually trying to find a place for his infamous floating crap game for his gang of petty criminals.

For 2014, the performance is made up of an exciting cast of 32 students in grades 7-12 combining experience with new energy to create a hard-working, talented cast. Returning to the stage in some of their biggest roles yet are veteran seniors Elisha Madison (Sky Masterson), Rachel Squier (Sarah Brown), Brandon Fallon (Nathan Detroit), Kelly Menendez (Arvide Abernathy), Nicholas DeVries (Big Jule), and Kelsey Bressett (General Cartwright). Also keep an eye out for junior, Rachel Eckert (Miss Adelaide); sophomore, Jeremy Wainright (Nicely Nicely Johnson), junior, Hunter Fistrowicz (Benny Southstreet), and the many other talented faces that make up the cast of Guys & Dolls.
