Local photographer lands cover of best-selling book
EARLVILLE – Local photographer Paige Wissenbach just started working with New York Times bestselling author Maggie Shayne. Wissenbach is well-known for her fantasy photography and one of her photographs was used as the box set cover for Shayne's well-known trilogy, “The Immortal Witches.” According to Shayne's Facebook page, “This is the first cover I've had with a custom photograph.”
Wissenbach was first noticed by Shayne when she did a fantasy photo shoot of the daughter of one of the author's friends.
“She (Shayne) contacted me and said she absolutely loved my art and that it was unique,” Wissenbach said. “She liked that I could make her photos that would stand out from the others.”
Wissenbach has a running contract with Shayne that gives the author rights to the photographs once Wissenbach creates them for her. “She (Shayne) comes up with a broad idea and has me detail it,” said Wissenbach.
This is not the first time Wissenbach's photography has been used on a book cover. Her work was also featured on the cover of “Damara's Paw on Walking the Walk,” which was written by local Christian minister Wendy Gillette. These covers are just highlights of the great scope of Wissenbach's work.
