CHENANGO COUNTY – The United States Department of Agriculture has announced sign-ups for its farmer and rancher disaster assistance programs.

The farmer and rancher disaster assistance programs have been reinstated as part of the recently passed Farm Bill. According to the USDA, implementation of disaster relief programs have been a top priority to ensure there is a safety net in place for farmers affected by natural disasters.

Sign-ups in livestock, honeybee, and fruit grower programs begin April 15.
