New Berlin man arrested by NYSP following dispute

COLUMBUS – At 5:19 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 a 911 call was placed to report a dispute at a residence on county Route 41 in Columbus. By the time State Police of Norwich arrived, the dispute had ended.

According to authorities, the dispute involved 30-year-old Tory L. Brown of New Berlin and another adult who had an active order of protection placed against Brown in place.

Allegedly, there was a physical altercation in which Brown was upset and grabbed the victim's throat.

“He attempted to keep the victim from leaving for a short period of time,” said Trooper Nathan Riegal, Public Information Officer for the New York State Police. A cell phone was also damaged during the dispute.
