Volleyball tournament to benefit YMCA kids' camp

NORWICH – The Norwich Family YMCA, in collaboration with several community volunteers, is making a set for the annual co-ed volleyball tournament.
For the fourth year, the tournament will help raise money for YMCA programs while giving volleyball lovers an opportunity to compete in one of the few local tournaments in the area. Funds raised this year will go directly toward the YMCA Kids for Camp summer program.
The tournament will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at Rotary Park located at 95 Cortland St. in Norwich.

In addition to raising funds, players this year are also asked to donate a few items for the Chenango SPCA. The shelter is always seeking cleaning supplies, including paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, bleach, window cleaner, and hand sanitizer, as well as plastic toys for dogs and cats, cat litter, canned pet food, and bedding.
“Each year, this group looks for another organization in the community, in addition to the YMCA, that they can help out,” explained Mullen.
