Fire in Sherburne destroys barn
SHERBURNE – A fire in Sherburne early yesterday morning led to the destruction of a barn on State Highway 12. The Sherburne Fire Department responded to the fire shortly after 2 a.m. that morning and received mutual aid from North Norwich, Smyrna and Earlville.
“It was partially collapsed when they arrived on the scene,” said A. Jones, Chief Dispatcher with the Sheriff's Office. He explained that defensive operations were employed to protect the surrounding exposures (a vehicle and garage) from the fire. The barn is a total loss. Information in regards to the cause of the fire was not available at press time.
