Norwich-Oxford LL partners with Chenango Health Network
NORWICH – The Norwich Oxford Little League has partnered with the Chenango Health Network to help stop the influential marketing of tobacco products to our communities’ youth.
Norwich-Oxford Little League has officially chartered with Little League (major and minor leagues in baseball and softball), for over 40 years. The 2014 program enables 193 boys and girls the opportunity to build character, learn new skills and make new friends through America’s pastime.
The Norwich-Oxford Little League is pleased to announce its partnership with Chenango Health Network. The CHN will help the league educate and promote the values with living a healthy tobacco free lifestyle. As part of the partnership Norwich-Oxford Little League will host Tobacco Awareness Day.
“Our community is a great place to raise a healthy family. Educating players, parents and coaching staff about the perils of tobacco is no easy task, but this is a place to start,” said Jason Miller, League Information Officer. “This year, visitors to our ball fields will be greeted with the message that tobacco use has no place at our ball fields. We have some great new signage courtesy of CHN”
For 75 years, Little League has provided communities around the world the opportunity for families to connect and for children to come together in a healthy, safe environment to learn the values of team sports and the fundamentals of baseball and softball. Norwich-Oxford Little League is proud to be able to provide this opportunity to the community for over 40 years.
Little League Baseball and Softball is the world’s largest organized youth sports program, with 2.4 million players and one million adult volunteers in every U.S. state, and more than 80 other countries. In 2014, Little League is celebrating its 75th Anniversary of developing major league people.
