NORTH NORWICH – On Saturday, July 19 a 20-year-old man from Sherburne was arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old victim in his car.

According to authorities, two deputies from the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested Thomas W. Knickerbocker following an investigation into a suspicious vehicle in the Town of North Norwich. Upon arrival it was found that Knickerbocker was engaging in a sexual act with the victim in the vehicle. It is alleged that he had been talking to the victim over Facebook, and had been sending indecent material to the victim.

He was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for rape in the second degree; criminal sexual act in the second degree; possessing a sexual performance by a child; disseminating indecent material to a minor; and endangering the welfare of a child.
