Senate hopeful Anndrea Starzak schedules stop in Chenango

NORWICH – New York Senate hopeful Anndrea Starzak (D) is kicking off her campaign with a tour of the 52nd Senate District, which includes a stop in Chenango County.
Starzak announced her candidacy for the district seat in June, urged on by the indictment of incumbent Republican Senator Tom Libous on charges of falsifying information to the FBI. Since then, she has gained backing of the Democratic committees of Chenango, Broome, Delaware and Tioga counties.
Starzak scheduled her first stop for 11 a.m. today at the Tioga County Court House, followed by an announcement at 6 p.m. in Broome County at the Endicott Visitors' Center.
On Wednesday, Starzak will make a noontime appearance in Chenango County at the East Park stage in Norwich, followed by a visit to Delaware County at a time and location yet to be announced.
Starzak is running on the platform to bring good jobs, good education, and good government back to the Southern Tier by utilizing experience from her five-year stint as the Town of Vestal Supervisor from 2000-2005, and a prior 20-year history as an English and special education teacher at the Vestal and Owego school districts.
