Home spared in Oxford garage fire

OXFORD – According to Chenango County dispatch records, at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning crews from the Oxford Fire Department were dispatched to 2139 County Road 3 in the Town of Oxford for a reported garage fire.
According to fire personnel, the two are garage was attached to a house and. County dispatch would eventually call crews from Norwich, Brisben, Coventry and Smithville were requested to the scene, Greene Fire was also alerted but later canceled.
Oxford and mutual aid crews kept the fire from extending into the residence.
Authorities were not available for further comment as of press time.
