Chenango ARC honors longtime supporter

NORWICH – The Chenango County ARC recently honored one of its longtime supporters with a special dedication of its day habilitation facility in North Norwich.
Last week, the Chenango County ARC unveiled a plaque fixed to the side of its day habilitation facility on Country Club Road which recognizes William C. Craine and his family for their continued support of the organization and its programs.
The plaque additionally calls attention to Craine’s grandfather, Earl B. Clark, who organized the Chenango Cooperative Insurance Company and served as Chairman of Chenango Cooperative for more than 20 years before it was acquired by North Country Insurance. Pre-acquisition, the company changed its name to Chenango Mutual and built the facility where the Chenango County ARC’s day habilitation currently operates.
The plaque reads, “The progressive and visionary business acumen shared by both William and his ancestors are a tribute to the growth and guidance that William Craine had provided to the ARC, the program participants and the community. May this building forever stand as a testament to these accomplishments, and the dedication of such, a humble recognition of enduring appreciation.”
