Polls open in Democratic and Republican primary in Chenango County
CHENANGO COUNTY – Hundreds of county residents will head to the polls today for a county-wide Democratic and Republican primary election.
Appearing on the ballot are Democratic gubernatorial candidates Zephyr Teachout and Randy Credico who are challenging Andrew Cuomo for the governor’s seat.
The position of lieutenant governor is also being contested by Democrat Timothy Wu and Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul.
The Republican primary for New York’s 52nd Senatorial District was a late addition to the ballot. Voters within the district will decide between incumbent Tom Libous and political newcomer Denver Jones.
Polls will be open from noon to 9 p.m. Questions concerning polling locations or registration can be addressed to the Chenango County Board of Elections by calling 337-1760.
