ONEONTA – Norwich held the opposition scoreless in the first half a sixth straight game, but was unable to contain the Yellowjackets in Monday's shutout loss.
Taylor Hitchcock scored twice in the second half for OHS, and Madison Miller tallied off a header to spark the attack.
"We played a great first half and were right with them,” said Norwich coach Adam Sprague. “Then our legs kind of died in the second half.
Kassidy Seary made 13 saves in goal for Norwich in the defeat.

UV wins NY Pizzeria title
NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley won its second tournament title in as many weekends beating Bainbridge-Guilford in the New York Pizzeria title game Saturday, 4-0.
The victory came one day removed from an 8-0 win over Oxford that sent the Storm into the finals.
Four different UV players scored in the win over the Bobcats. Nikki Gramstad scored 18 minutes into the game, and Hunter Lakin made it a two-goal advantage with 3:15 left in the opening session.
Kirsten White and Emily Converse scored one minute apart in the second half to add insurance.
Friday, the Storm scored six goals in the opening half to dispatch the Blackhawks.
After 13 minutes of scoreless play, Sierra Badger started the offensive eruption. Jessica Smith added two goals in the first half and Emily Converse contributed one goal and two assists.
Gramstad was named the tournament's MVP, while fellow Storm players Kayleigh Fairchild, Hunter Lakin, and Jackie Smith were named to the all-tournament team.
In the consolation game Saturday, G-MU's Tayler Nichols scored her team's first three goals in a 5-0 shutout of Oxford. Marina Zaczek and Charlene Heisler had second-half goals for the Raiders.

Holland Patent's Alyssa Stanley connected on a hard shot 4 1/2 minutes into the game. In all but one contest this season, the Marauders have given up a goal in the first five minutes, said head coach Kylie Davis. "We just didn't put anything together in the first half and were just chasing the ball," Davis said. "We dominated the second half. We had good ball movement and put some shots together. We just couldn't finish."
S-E (3-3) hosts Adirondack Wednesday.

"We came out flat early in the second half and were struggling with communication issues," said G-MU coach Meghan Benoit. "We fought back hard and had opportunities to attack the goal, but didn't capitalize."
Rylee D'Addezio scored 11:11 into the game to give G-MU (2-5) the early lead. Elaina Palada was credited with the assist.

Norwich sophomore Ryan Johnson was nearly stroke-for-stroke with Wrighter firing an even-par 36. Johnson finished with two birdies and two bogeys.
Next for Norwich were Joe Mioduszewski (42), Alex Gage (43), Nate Scheer (46), and Kai Scheer (46).
Norwich travels to Owego Wednesday.

Only two sets of the 14 contested were up for grabs. At third singles, Steph Elder outlasted Lindsay Thornton, 6-2 7-6 (5), and at first doubles, Sam Gage and Cohley Acenowr won a first-set tiebreaker 12-10 before polishing off the second set with a six-love finish.
"We dominated a team in our division, and that put us one step closer to a division title," said Norwich coach John Stewart.
The Tornado visit Sidney today.
