Update: Woman's body identified, CCSO seeks information from public
SHERBURNE — The woman found dead at a Sherburne business has been identified and following an autopsy, it was determined the manner of death was not a homicide.
At approximately 6:45 a.m. Thursday morning, the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a 911 call reporting an unconscious female in the parking lot of a bar on Classic Street in the Village of Sherburne. The Sherburne Ambulance responded.
According to authorities, the woman was found next to a vehicle on the south side of the parking lot.
The investigation is continuing, according to Lieutenant Richard Cobb of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim has been identified as Diana Theofilogiannakos, 50, of Sherburne.
The autopsy was conducted by Forensic Pathologist James Terzian at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, and her cause of death is still pending toxicology testing.
The CCSO was able to determine Theofilogiannakos died between 2:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. Thursday morning.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Sherburne Ambulance, the Sherburne Police Department and the New York State Police.
Authorities are asking anyone with information or anyone who may have been near that area within that time frame to please call 334-2000.
