NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley finished regular season league play in the Midstate Athletic Conference on the upswing winning its third straight game on Friday.
Than Garry scored first for UV (8-6) beating two Oxford defenders after getting a pass from Johnny Schermerhorn.
Leading by just a goal at halftime, Schermorhorn netted the second goal scooping up a rebound off Derrick Schwab’s shot that hit the crossbar, and Dakota Merlo completed the scoring netting his goal unassisted.
UV is idle until the MAC crossover game.

Zach Smith and Jake Cuozzo had two goals apiece for the Bobcats (14-2), who will likely play a one-game playoff against Greene for the division title and an opportunity to compete in the league championship game.
Kyle Hanvey had one goal and one assist for the Bobcats, while Ryan Jones, Sean Jones, and Adam Bauerle were credited with goals.

OWEGO – Coming off a semifinals defeat in the Class B doubles tournament Thursday, Norwich’s Caroline Stewart and Makenzie Maynard rebounded in the third-fourth consolation match.
Stewart and Maynard earned a spot in the Section IV State Qualifier later this month rolling over Seton Catholic Central’s Ava McCann and Lauren Miller, 6-2, 6-0. With the victory, Norwich wound up fourth in team scoring.

Greene 50, Odessa Montour 42
ODESSA – Greene won for the fourth time in five meets clinching its win over Odessa-Montour Friday by winning the meet-closing 400 freestyle relay.
The Trojans started quickly with victories in the first four events. After taking the 200 medley relay, Audrey Platta (200 free), Kailey Yanusas (200 IM), and Julia Arboit (50 free) followed up that win as Greene went into the second half of the meet with the lead. “After 10 days of practice where we accelerated the yardage we were putting in, we just had back-to-back meets, and the athletes responded to the challenge,” said Greene coach Mike Platta. “I like where we are heading into the final month of the season.”
Arboit and Yanusas followed up their early victories with wins in the 100 free and 500 free respectively, and Nicole Flohr captured the 100-yard breaststroke.
Greene (4-5) is at Whitney Point Tuesday.
