Local seniors focus of Chenango County Area Agency on Aging Annual Public Hearing

NORWICH – Chenango County Area Agency on Aging considers the rising needs of community seniors. The public is invited to attend the agency's Annual Public Hearing at 10 a.m. on Wedsnesday, Nov. 12 in the Community Room of 33 Mechanic St. in Norwich.

CCAAA is required to hold an annual hearing for the community to voice their opinions about services available to seniors in Chenango County.

Agency Director Debra Sanderson said, “It's a great opportunity to express concerns in the community regarding services for seniors and talk about any unmet needs. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend; it's not just for seniors.”

CCAAA offers several different services to local seniors 60 years and older, including nutrition programs, legal services, home care services, in-home outreach, community senior centers, help with Medicare related health insurance, home energy assistance and a personal emergency response system.
