Paranormal investigation results revealed at New Berlin Library
NEW BERLIN — It's October; the time of year that we hit the supermarkets to seek out pillow-sized bags of cheap candy in preparation of filling up cauldrons and try out-doing the Jones' by anchoring down mediocre lawn decorations.
Luckily – for the rest of us looking for something a bit more frightening than November’s dental exam — we’re in luck.
Sure, some will go to “haunted” houses and take hayrides looking for their thrills, but for those looking for the real deal look no further than the New Berlin Library.
On Wednesday, Oct. 29, hairs will be raised and spines will be chilled as a team from Phenomenon and Paranormal Investigations reveal their case findings from a study conducted in August at the seemingly salubrious library located in the heart of New Berlin Village.
The centrury-old former home of a wealthy New Berlin merchant is said to house spirits that roam the halls.
Phenomenon and Paranormal Investigations is a paranormal research team dedicated to investigating paranormal activity claims by using a scientific research method. Based out of Ulster, Penn. The group of five regularly travel to historical site in and around the Finger Lakes, Central New York, and the northeastern portion Pennsylvania.
According to their website, their mission is to “help bring understanding to the paranormal, whether it's just your own curiosity or if it's actually happening.”
PPI's scientific approach utilizes equipment to measure and record anomalies and allows them to capture evidence to support or debunk paranormal activity.
“PPI will be presenting their findings along with their regular program which includes how they do their work, the equipment they use and other past investigations along with the results,” said Darlene LaBrie, New Berlin Library Director.
To conduct a paranormal investigation, the team follows a lengthy step-by-step process that includes historical research of the site, a walk-though and evidence review.
“People attending will have the opportunity to ask questions and get hands-on access to some of the equipment used for the investigation,” said LaBrie.
