CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Board of Supervisors has opted through resolution to sign a five-year lease for office space for New York State Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Garry.

Garry, who has served the state’s Sixth Judicial District since 2006, operates from a 1,100 square foot space leased by the county with Cook Building, LLC located at 6 E. Main St. in Norwich. State law directs the county to provide office space for resident supreme court justices.

The original lease signed by the county in 2006 provided for a three-year initial term for Judge Garry’s office, which was followed by two two-year extensions with the same terms. The most recent lease extension will be good for five years with zero percent escalation.
