Deceased man found in Sherburne

SHERBURNE – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the death of a 34-year-old out-of-state man.
According to CCSO Lieutenant Richard Cobb, the man was found shortly after 11 a.m Wednesday in the sleeper portion of his tractor trailer.
The man’s next of kin has not been notified therefore no name will be released.
“The truck was parked adjacent to a business on North Main Street in Sherburne,” said Cobb.
An autopsy is to be performed Thursday morning at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.
“The victim’s activities from the day before through yesterday when the body was discovered are still being investigated,” said Cobb. “This is including the circumstances surrounding how the man was found.”
The investigation is continuing and additional information will appear in The Evening Sun when it is made available.
