Norwich Theater Co. presents: Irving Berlin’s ‘White Christmas’
NORWICH – Cast and crew of the Norwich Theatre Company, Inc. spent Wednesday night placing the finishing touches on its presentation of Irving Berlin’s classic musical “White Christmas.”
The seasoned cast of both veteran and young stage actors infused the feel-good post war drama with intense energy as the story of two honorably discharged Army soldiers-turned-philanthropists pay homage to their former General down on his luck.
The casts' vivid costumes and lighting captures the audiences attention and keeps it nestled within the storyline throughout the duration of the two act endeavor.
Speaking at intermission of Wednesday’s full dress rehearsal, Director Rich Heim said, “Although I've directed plays before, this is my first time directing a musical – which is a different experience for me.”
To his advantage, Heim has the expertise and musical direction of Mena Conant and choreography of Bernie Windsor at his disposal, which he indicated, “Has been a great learning experience.”
The show opens to the public Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Martin W. Kappel Theater located within the Chenango Arts Council, 27 West Main St., Norwich.
Tickets are $12 and may be purchased by visiting the Company’s website at norwichtheatercompany.org, or locally at Hummel’s or Service Pharmacy in Norwich.
