Chenango Arts Council opens doors for free event Saturday

NORWICH – In the spirit of giving this holiday season, organizers the Chenango Council of the Arts has planned a holiday themed open house packed with stage performances, a gift shop, snacks and a tour of the facility free of charge.
The doors will be open for the community to come join Chenango County's arts and cultural hub beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Organizers expect the event to continue until 4:30 p.m.
The open house will feature an old fashioned tree trimming, a gingerbread house display along with an auction and of course, holiday treats.
In addition, festive showcases will serve as a focal point of the open house event as stage area performers the likes of Jes Sheldon & Co., The Pathfinder Village Bell Ringers, Binghamton Madrigal Choir, Norwich Theatre Company, Norwich Dance Club and CWS Chenango County ARC take to the stage.
“Our Holiday Gift Shop will run until Sunday, and includes the work of many local artists’ glorious items, and prices are very reasonable. We're very excited to have the ability to bring a host of holiday performances to the stage at no cost to the community and we're hoping for a great turnout.” said Chenango Arts Council Executive Director Diane Batson-Smith.
“This weekend we have a terrific line-up of talent that's open to the public, and we want to exted this invitation to everyone.” Batson-Smith said.
Also, there's still time to visit the Annual Members Art Exhibit sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Flanagan. Every year the Chenango Arts Council pays tribute to their members' art where each member can exhibit up to three pieces in this show. The exhibit closes on December 17.
