FRANKLIN – Franklin took the lead with a 7-0 run to start the second half in Monday night’s victory over visiting G-MU.
Mariah McNeilly scored 11 points for the Purple Devils, and her three ball put her club in front for good in the third, 16-15.
Meghan Meers scored 13 for G-MU, who led by six after one quarter and by four at the half. “They have a bunch of kids that played on winning soccer and basketball teams, and they’re all quick kids,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson of Franklin. “ They know how to win. They put up some good defense late in the game; they were quick to every loose ball, and they outplayed us when it counted down the stretch.”
G-MU hosts Schenevus Friday.
