Downsville Tournament

Downsville 51, G-MU 36
DOWNSVILLE – G-MU played perhaps its best offensive half of basketball this season winning the consolation game of the Downsville Tournament Monday night against Roscoe.
The victory was the first this season for the Raiders, who won just one game a season ago. "We did the little things tonight that we've been improving on through the course of the season," said G-MU coach Greg Bonzkowski.
The Raiders' Nate O'Hara hit three threes in the third quarter giving his club a 38-31 lead entering the final quarter.
Roscoe made an early fourth-quarter push tying the game at 40-40. Mickenson Clune unlocked the tie for the Raiders scoring inside off an inbounds play to set off a 13-0 run to end the game.
O'Hara hit five threes finishing with a season-high 24 points to go with 12 rebounds. Clune had eight boards, and Hunter Lockwood tossed in nine points and five assists. "It was a well balanced effort in the fourth quarter," Bonczkowski said. "We made some defensive adjustments, and we were able to hold them scoreless the last four or five minutes of the game."
Saturday, Downsville's 19-7 second quarter combined with a 15-9 third period proved to be the difference in its win over G-MU.
"We forced them out of their man defense, and they went to a zone in the second quarter," Bonczkowski said. "We had good looks the rest of the game, we just didn't shoot a high percentage."
Clune scored 11 points and O'Hara had 10 in the loss. O’Hara was G-MU’s selection to the all-tournament team.
