Wilcox to chair County Board of Supervisors for fourth year

NORWICH – Chairman of the Chenango County Board of Supervisors Lawrence Wilcox will start his fourth term in his lead role this week after being voted to return to the position on Friday.

Wilcox, a 65-year-old dairy farmer, thanked the board for their continued support and vote of confidence to lead them through another year. The longtime local lawmaker is heading into his 18th year on the board representing the Town of Oxford.

Wilcox lauded board members for their accomplishments over the last three years, most notably the relocation of the Chenango County Court offices from the County Office Building to the Eaton Center in the fall of 2014. He said the state’s demand to relocate court offices had “haunted Chenango County for nearly 20 years.”
