Chenango River Theatre to honor Daniels at eighth annual Gala

GREENE – Over the past eight seasons, The Chenango River Theatre has brought more than 30 productions to the area's stage enthusiasts – a feat that took many hands to accomplish.
A particular set of guiding hands has helped mold the footprint of the Route 12 Theatre into the shining example of community cooperation that it embodies today, and those belong to James Daniels.
In honor of Daniels' service and efforts, the Chenango River Theatre Gala will host its eighth annual Gala in his name in appreciation of his contributions and service to the theatre.
Daniels – a Managing Partner at Davidson Fox & Co. in Binghamton by day – has served on the theatre’s Board for nine years, helping advise the founding committee from before the company even existed all the way through the 2014 season.
The open-to-the-public event will be held at the Silo Restaurant, just off State route 206 east of the Village of Greene, on January 24 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Featuring over one hundred items donated by area merchants, the Gala also serves as a fundraising event for the organization to augment future productions.
The evenings affairs will include both silent and exciting live auctions action encompassing a vast variety of bargains on vacation trips, fine artwork, jewelry, sports memorabilia and gift certificates to area attractions and restaurants.
Of notable mention, this year’s live auction features a one-off acoustic guitar autographed by none other than legend Jimmy Buffett. The unique scrawling incorporates his famous “Fins Up” salutation and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
Presently, the guitar is being displayed at the Silo Restaurant in Greene. Bidders can contend in person or by remote with advance registration by visiting chenangorivertheatre.org or by calling 656-8778.
Admission includes a wide variety of the Silo’s best appetizers plus carving stations with a selection of meats, as well as a wealth of desserts. Complimentary wine, beer & soda is also included. Tickets are $65 each person, which includes a tax-deductible gift to the theatre.
“The terrific band Old Friends will be playing and, as always, the Silo will be dishing out great food with complimentary wine and beer. There will be bargains galore at the Silent and Live Auctions,” said the Chenango River Theatre's Facebook page.
Corporate tables will be recognized for their support and corporate table sponsors receive a 50% discount for their ad in CRT’s 2015 theatre playbill.
