Gone Girl- Just when you think you know a person, you learn something that will completely take you by surprise. Nick Pike (Ben Affleck) thought he found his soulmate when he married Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike). It turns out that being married can take a toll on people and it's possible you can find out that the person you thought you knew so well had a lot of secrets. Nick doesn't hear from Amy for some time and she has disappeared. Now everything points to Nick like he may be behind Amy's disappearance. The more the authorities find, the more it looks like Nick just might be behind it. Can Nick be guilty or is there more to Amy than even he knows? Affleck has been busy working on the Batman/Superman movie. Now there is talk that the movie may be released into two installments with the first one coming out in October. Stay Tuned!
A Walk Among The Tombstones- Doing the job is never as you would like it to be. Matt Scudder (Liam Neeson) was a cop for the NYPD but for his own reasons he got out and became a private detective. A case comes up with someone targeting a number of drug dealers' wives and now one of them has decided to hire Matt to find out who's doing it. Matt takes the case but isn't sure about it. He goes after the kidnappers but he may have to cross lines he vowed he never would. Can he find who's doing it before he won't be able to come back from wherever the case may take him? Neeson returns as Brian Mills as his freedom is threatened with the death of his wife and his daughters' life hanging in the balance. "Taken 3" is in theaters now.
Also on DVD
The Scorpion King 4: Quest For Power- Betrayal from someone you trust is never something you see coming. The Scorpion King Mathayus (Victor Webster) has gone through many trials and heartaches to retain his kingdom and avenge the loss of his brother. Now he'll have to fend off danger from within his own circle when someone close to him tries to take what he's fought so hard to build. While at the same time, he has to save his kingdom from a threat that has been released by those who would want to control it. Is Mathayus going to be able to stop what is coming? Webster can also be seen in "The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption" out on DVD in stores now. Also, Webster returns with Rachel Nichols on "Continuum" returning to the Syfy Channel in the Spring.
Finders Keepers (2014)- We all have something we treasure in life. Children can do this with the toys they have. It's never easy making a new start but being divorced isn't an easy thing. Alison (Jamie Presley) just wanted to make a new life for her and her daughter Claire (Kylie Rogers). When they move into their new house, they find a doll that Claire likes right away and wants to keep. After some time passes, strange things start to happen. It seems whenever the doll is bumped or something else happens, bruises start to happen on Claire. This also gets the attention of Claire's psychologist Dr Freeman (Tobin Bell) who thinks she might be being abused by Alison. Alison knows it's crazy but she starts to think the doll might have something to do with it. Those close to Claire start to die. Does the doll really have something to do with it? Coming to DVD soon is "Annabelle" and will be profiled in a future patrol. Also, for more scary doll movies, the Toddster recommends the "Child's Play" series.
On the way is a new Toddster's Take with "Taken 3" being highlighted soon. Awards season is starting up too so if you're interested the Oscars will be coming in on February 22. Nominations were just announced as well. Might be some movies on DVDS of nominees so keep checking. The Toddster will be here next week.
