Brothers accused of possessing stolen firearms and others indicted
NORWICH – Two brothers accused of possessing stolen firearms, Oxford man accused of trying to fill a forged Oxycodone prescription and others were indicted on Jan. 21 by a grand jury.
• Thomas L. Ackermann, 25, South Otselic, was indicted on two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony.
It is alleged on or about Nov. 25, 2014 at a Town of Otselic residence, Ackermann –while acting in concert with another– did knowingly possess three stolen weapons, consisting of a Ruger 308 M77 Winchester rifle, a Ruger 77/50 muzzle-loader and a Remington 870 shotgun, to benefit himself or another person other than the owner. The guns had an approximate value of $1,960 and belonged to a Town of Otselic resident.
In an unrelated, separate case, Ackermann was also indicted on criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony, and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor.
It is alleged on or about Dec. 9, 2014 at approximately 2 p.m. at a Mitchell Street residence in the City of Norwich, Ackermann did knowingly possess stolen property, consisting of a XPS-M14 Dell laptop computer and a XJ-A140V Casio projector belonging to one Norwich resident; two DVD players, $40 in loose change and a wallet belonging to another Norwich resident; and an Apple iPod belonging to yet another Norwich resident, to benefit himself or another person other than the owners.
• Samuel J. Ackermann, 22, Norwich, was indicted on two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony.
It is alleged on or about Nov. 25, 2014 at a Town of Otselic residence, Ackermann –while acting in concert with another– did knowingly possess three stolen weapons, consisting of a Ruger 308 M77 Winchester rifle, a Ruger 77/50 muzzle-loader and a Remington 870 shotgun, to benefit himself or another person other than the owner. • Jefferey A. Walter, 25, Norwich, was indicted on burglary in the second degree, a class A felony, and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
It is alleged on or about Dec. 25, 2014 at approximately 5:15 p.m. at a Town of Norwich residence, Walter did knowingly enter and unlawfully remain in the dwelling of a Town of Norwich resident with the intent to commit a crime and did commit the crime of larceny by stealing a digital camera, a piggy bank containing approximately $14 worth of cash and $28 worth of change and one Oxycodone pill.
• David S. Franklin, 33, Oxford, was indicted on three counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a class D felony.
It is alleged on or about Dec. 18, 2014 at Rite Aid located on 82 North Broad St. in the City of Norwich, Price Chopper Pharmacy located at 5631 State Highway 12 in the City of Norwich and Bartle's Pharmacy located at 10 Lafayette Park in the Village of Oxford, Franklin did knowingly and unlawfully possess a prescription script for 60 Oxycodone 15 mg pills from Northern New Jersey Pain and Rehabilitation Center, which contained the forged signature of a doctor. Franklin allegedly attempted to have said prescription filled at each pharmacy.
• Anastasia D. Hallenbeck, 25, Norwich, was indicted on two counts of criminal sale of controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.
It is alleged on or about Dec. 2, 2014 on Front Street in City of Norwich and on or about Dec. 4, 2014 at a Brown Street residence, Hallenbeck did knowingly and unlawfully sell the narcotic drug heroin.
In an unrelated, separate case, Hallenbeck was also indicted on criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.
It is alleged on or about Sept. 1, 2014 at approximately 4:34 p.m. on Rexford Street in the City of Norwich, Hallenbeck did knowingly and unlawfully possess seven individually wrapped corner wraps of the narcotic drug cocaine with the intent to sell.
• Leslie L. Kenyon, 45, Greene, was indicted on failure to register or verify as a sex offender, a class E felony.
It is alleged on or about Nov. 5, 2014 in the Town of Smithville, Kenyon did fail to register with the Sex Offender Unit of the Division of Criminal Justice Services within 10 calendar days after changing his address from 107 Scribner Lane in Smithville to 111 Cyprus Rd. in Greene as of Dec. 22, 2014.
