Artist applications being accepted for 21st annual Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival
NORWICH – Time is growing short for interested artists to submit their applications for this year's 21st annual Colorscape Chenango.
Applications must be postmarked by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 for consideration for this year's festival. Late applications may be accepted at the discretion of the jury depending on available space.
Full details and an artist application are available for download by visiting www.colorscape.org. Questions can be directed to Peggy Finnegan, Executive Director and Visual Arts Coordinator, at 607-336-3378 or by e-mail at info@colorscape.org.
Colorscape Chenango is recognized as one of the foremost artist-friendly festivals in this part of New York. In fact, “Sunshine Artist,” America’s Premier Art and Craft Show Magazine, recently highlighted Colorscape Chenango’s exceptional commitment to artists in its February 2015 issue.
According to a recent press release about the article, based on a 10-point scale, Colorscape management received a 9.9 overall rating, artist treatment received a 10.0, and artist amenities received an 8.8. Other aspects of the event also received eight or better ratings, including attendance, advertising, quality of work, balance of mediums, prestige of show, layout, load-in/out, and parking. Artists participating in the festival also reported respectable sales figures.
As one artist commented in the article, “(This is) probably my favorite show because it is a show for artists by artists, and we are treated remarkably well by the management, volunteers, and community.”
Colorscape Chenango takes place in downtown Norwich, NY, on Saturday and Sunday, Sep. 12 & 13, 2015. Only 120 booth spaces are available this year, with applications arriving almost every day. Colorscape is continually looking for new artists, so get your application in today.
Colorscape Chenango is a free juried exhibition of arts and fine crafts in an interactive atmosphere featuring artist demonstrations, literary, dance, music and arts activities for all ages, student art exhibit, a competitive poetry slam and creative food vending. There will also be entertainment on two stages, arranged by Night Eagle Productions.
