BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge-Guilford shrugged off an erratic first half of shooting to blaze into the Midstate Athletic Conference finals next weekend against Delhi.
The Bobcats hit just 5 of 33 shot attempts in the first half and were locked in a 15-15 tie with the Spartans. “It seemed like we were just too wound up, and we did talk at halftime about getting our composure and settling down,” said B-G coach Bob Conway.
Sophomore Becca Reyes allowed the Bobcats to settle in quickly. Reyes hit a three on the opening possession of the first half, stole the ensuing inbounds pass for another layup, and had a steal and another layup for seven straight points. Later in the quarter, senior Morgan Bullis took charge with seven points including a three-point play in a 22-4 dominant stanza.
Bullis finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds in the victory, and Reyes added nine points.
