Friends of Rogers introduces Bird BINGO
SHERBURNE – All are welcome to flock together with Friends of Rogers for a rousing evening of Bird BINGO at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 24, 2015 at the Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne. “Bound to be an evening of high-flying fun, Bird BINGO is just like the classic game but with a feathery twist,” said Sarah Freedman, Friends of Rogers environmental educator. “All words and clues will be related to our fowl friends.”
A suggested donation of $3 per BINGO board will help support the Friends of Rogers mission.
“Each game is a new chance to fly away with one of our amazing bird-themed prizes or Rogers Dollars,” said Simon Solomon, Friends of Rogers Executive Director. “Bird BINGO is a fun new way to learn more about the wildlife we see every day at Rogers Center.”
Approximately 100 species of birds can be found at Rogers Center throughout the year; “that number increases to around 150 if you include migratory birds that are just passing through during breeding season,” Freedman said. If you would like to learn more about native birds, the Visitors Center includes interactive displays and the Gift Shop offers several books on the topic.
Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for all ages.
