Bonney sets weight throw record
ITHACA – Binghamton University freshman, Brooke Bonney (Norwich, 2014), set a new school record in the weight throw at the Cornell/Sunday Invitational.
Competing on the Bears' women's indoor track and field team, Bonney placed first in the event with a throw of 52 feet, 10 3/4 inches setting a freshman and school record.
Bonney starred for Norwich's track and field teams setting an outdoor track and field school record in the discus, she and qualified for the New York State track and field meet her final three years of high school.
UV's deGlee wins scholar/athlete award
SYRACUSE – Unadilla Valley senior Hank deGlee was recently honored by the New York State High School Football Coaches Association.
The Storm football and basketball player was recently named to the 2014 NYSHSFCA Scholar/Athlete All-State football team. "I'm very happy and proud for Hank being named for this honor," said UV varsity football coach, Mark Segina. "He's a great young man, and I'm going to miss working with him next season."
deGlee was an all-county pick by The Evening Sun this past season starting at tight end and defensive line. In the classroom, deGlee is presently ranked number two in Unadilla Valley's senior class with a 97.28 average.
