UHS launches Occupational Medicine Express Care satellite clinic
NORWICH – A new heath clinic geared toward serving the unique needs of Chenango County and surrounding area employers and employees proudly hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony in Norwich Thursday.
In conjunction with Commerce Chenango, the event served as an opportunity for members of the business community to obtain first-hand knowledge of the services the new clinic will provide, and how the satellite office can benefit the county’s workforce by saving both time and money.
Executive Director Rebecca Sedor said that many employers within the county have multiple regulations that they have to comply with, and that the new Occupational Medicine clinic will assist those employers in maintaining the regulation of both corporate and legal compliance.
According to Sedor, the facility is also certified to operate as a New York State Workers compensation preferred provider organization (PPO) in Chenango County — which enables clinicians to participate in the delivery of workers' compensation medical care. “We already service many Chenango County employers — Raymond Corp., Chobani, Unison and others — in that capacity; and we're hoping to open that door to other employers in this community,” said Sedor.
