Conway, Reynolds, Parker to enter Section IV HOF

BINGHAMTON – Two former Chenango County athletes and one current head coach will be inducted into the Section IV Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday, March 7 at the Floyd L. Maines Memorial Arena.
The Section IV Athletic Council named Jeff Parker (Norwich), Dr. Craig Reynolds (Oxford), and Bob Conway (girls' basketball coach) to this year's class in a media release Tuesday.
Conway is currently in his 22nd year as head coach of Bainbridge-Guilford and 33rd overall, and has a career record of 484 wins and 196 losses (a .711 win percentage). Previously, Conway spent 11 years coaching at Mount Upton.
Conway recently led the Bobcats' girls' basketball team to their fourth Midstate Athletic Conference title and fifth overall league title including a Susquenango Association crown in 1996.
Overall, Conway has guided B-G to nine MAC division crowns, four Susquenango East titles, one Class C title, one Class C-2 title, and an appearance in the Class C state championship game in 1999.
While at Mount Upton, Conway's alma mater, he overcame a 1-21 start over his first two seasons to lead the Mounties to a Tri-Valley Crown three years later, a Section IV Class D title, and a berth in the Class D state title game.
During his career as a head coach, Conway has coached six 1,000-point scorers: Danielle Baldwin, Dani Conway, Courtney Mattingly, Jennifer Patten, and Mariah Schaeffer, B-G; and Cheri Peck, Mt. Upton. Mattingly is currently Chenango County's all-time leading scorer for boys or girls with 1,918 career points.
Parker, a three-sport athlete for Norwich, played varsity football and baseball for three years, and varsity basketball for two.
Parker is Norwich's all-time leading rusher with 2,925 years, and he ran for a career-high 1,356 yards his senior season earning all-County, all-division, and all-Metro accolades.
In the winter months, Parker toiled on the basketball court, and averaged 11.7 points a game his senior season, while also garnering the designation as Norwich's Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
A two-time baseball all-star in the ultra-competitive Southern Tier Athletic Conference, Parker batted .327 his senior season, and finished with 48 career stolen bases, 24 his senior season.
Reynolds, a 1982 grad of Oxford, was the definition of scholar-athlete.
Taking over at quarterback four games into his freshman season, Reynolds directed the Blackhawks to two undefeated campaigns in 1979 and 1981, and his clubs were a combined 25-6 during his years at quarterback. Reynolds earned all-Sus East and Evening Sun All-County honors after his junior and senior seasons.
Along the way, Reynolds completed 183 of 400 passes for 2,996 yards and 22 touchdowns; rushed 258 times for 1,120 yards and 15 scores, and booted 22 extra points and a half-dozen field goals - the longest covering 44 yards - for a career total of 130 points.
As point guard on the Oxford basketball team, Reynolds amassed 755 career points, fourth all-time on the school's scoring list at the time of his graduation. Again, Reynolds was honored by the Sus East and Evening Sun All-County teams as a junior and a senior.
Reynolds rounded out his stellar career as the baseball team's shortstop batting .442 and .333 respectively as Oxford went a combined 36-8 over Reynolds final two seasons.
Oxford captured the Section IV Class C crown after Reynolds' junior year, and won the overall Susquenango Association during his senior season. Following his junior and senior campaigns, Reynolds was honored again by The Evening Sun and the Sus East.
In the classroom, Reynolds was a standout student and valedictorian before studying medicine at Cornell University. Today, Reynolds is a doctor of Anesthesiology at Upstate University Hospital Community Campus.
