Marchant inducted into Wilkes Athletics HOF

WILKES BARRE, Pa. – Retired Norwich teacher and coach, Richard (Rick) Marchant was recently inducted into the Wilkes University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Marchant was part of the twenty-second class of inductees and the first swimmer to be honored by the school's hall of fame.

Marchant was a four-year letter winner for the Colonels, and was co-captain of the men's swimming team in 1975 and 1976. His senior season, he was fifth in the conference in the 50 freestyle, fifth in the 100 free, and sixth in the 100 butterfly. During his junior year, Marchant was third in the 100 butterfly and sixth in the 50 freestyle.
