Fire crews from Oxford, Norwich, McDonough, Preston, Brisben and Guilford responded to Wakefield Lane in the Town of Oxford early Monday morning to a reported structure fire. While the outbuilding was fully-involved upon arrival to the scene, fire crews initiated a defensive attack to protect a nearby residence. The structure was located some 400' off the main road (Turner St.) requiring fire personnel to pump water from a nearby creek. Scene commander and Oxford Fire Chief Mike Cobb reported no injuries.
