NHS to host Spring Concert tonight
NORWICH – The Norwich High School Music Department will be presenting its Spring Concert tonight beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public, and all are invited to attend an evening of mixed ensembles from grades 9- 12.
The program will feature the following groups:
• Jazz Ensemble (Erin Lynch, director-performing “Blue and Sentimental” and “Take Five”)
• Treble Choir (Mary Williams, director- performing “Exultate Justi in Domino”)
• Wind Ensemble (Erin Lynch, director-performing “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”)
• String Ensemble (Allison Rehn, director-performing “Theme from Schindler’s List” and “Over The Rainbow”)
• Mixed Choir (Mary Williams, director and Anita Humer, accompanist) will present the choral masterwork “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi featuring soloists Cassandra Corey, Marissa Mitchell, Kaitlyn Jackson, Elizabeth Brewer, and Maria Morbidini as well as the Madrigal Singers.
The Mixed Choir will give a second performance of “Gloria” Wednesday morning from 9:45 – 10:30 a.m. for staff, students and community members.
