Adult education classes offered throughout the region

CHENANGO COUNTY – Afton Central School's Adult and Continuing Education program is offering classes on reading, writing, and math skills to residents throughout Chenango and Otsego counties.

For those interested in earning their high school equivalency diploma, there are free, educational services available through Afton Central School’s program. The program sponsors classes in area schools, workforce centers, and libraries. Classes are free, the work is individualized, and classes can be joined at any time.

Classes are offered at the following places and times: Afton High School library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m., the CDO Workforce Center, 1 O'Hara Dr. in Norwich on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the CDO Workforce Center, 12 Dietz St. in Oneonta on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (youth only), the Sidney Civic Center, 21 Liberty St. in Sidney (2nd floor, room 204) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon, the UV High School computer lab, Room 111, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. (starting April 14), and at the Walton Elementary School library, 42-66 North St. in Walton on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
