Danielson murder trial set for this summer

NORWICH – 49-year-old William H. Danielson of Norwich, who was charged with the Dec. 27, 2013 murder of his ex-girlfriend, appeared in Chenango County Court this week with a new lawyer and received a new date for trial.

On Dec. 29, 2013, after 39-year-old victim, Lucinda Knoll of Norwich, died from sustained injuries at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, Danielson was charged with the class A-1 felony of murder in the second degree.

It is alleged that on Dec. 27, at approximately 6:30 a.m. at 110 Bourbon St. in the Town of Norwich, Danielson – with intent to cause the death – did cause the death of Knoll by striking the her on the head several times.

Danielson allegedly attacked and beat Knoll on her driveway in front of their then seven-year-old son before allegedly taking off in his vehicle, crashing into a utility poll and abandoning his vehicle on foot.

According to to authorities, Knoll was buckling their son in and about to take him to school when Danielson allegedly struck her; authorities also said they believe he was waiting for her and planned the attack.
