OWEGO – Norwich remained perfect and unblemished winning its third straight match by shutout, Monday at Owego.
Third doubles players Jordan Vinal and Mike McLaughlin overcame some early difficulties before closing out strong over the Indians' Nick Almy and Jim Grant, 6-3, 6-0.
"We had solid play up and down the lineup under tough, windy conditions," said Norwich coach John Stewart. "We had some good doubles play today, and the third doubles team came alive after some close early play."
Norwich plays at Oneonta Wednesday.

G-MU 17, Morris 2 (6 innings)
COPES CORNERS – G-MU's Kelsey Ross had three hits and four runs scored, and freshman pitcher Scarlett Newman won her first varsity game in Monday's victory over visiting Morris.
Newman fanned five, walked three, and allowed just four hits in six innings of work. "She did really well for her first time on the varsity level," said G-MU coach Jim Johnson of Newman. "I was really happy for her, and the kids were pretty excited."
Katie Schultes added two hits and four RBI for the Raiders, and Jenna Bakhuizen drove in three runs.
G-MU plays at Downsville Wednesday.

Greene 21, Oxford 2 (5 innings)
OXFORD – Greene benefited from 17 Oxford base on balls. and Maddie Brink's three-run triple in the first inning highlighted the Trojans' seven-run first.
Alyssa Sands led Greene with three hits, and Laura Durdon was 2-for-2 with a double.
Emilee Eldred had two hits for Oxford, and Raigen Ehly smacked a solo homer in the fourth for Oxford on her way to a two-hit game.
The Blackhawks host Unatego today.

NEW BERLIN – Ashley Hatzidakis pitched a complete-game four-hitter for Unatego, and helped her own cause with a pair of doubles in Monday's win at Unadilla Valley.
Mackenzie Emerson doubled and drove in two runs for the Spartans as well.

Baseball

Unatego 7, Unadilla Valley 4
NEW BERLIN – Unatego's Josh Feyerabend was nearly unhittable throwing five scoreless innings in Monday's victory at Unadilla Valley.
Feyerabend had 13 strikeouts and allowed just two hits before leaving the game in the sixth.
The Spartans' Jake DeJoy had a 2-run double in the opening inning to support Feyerabend, and the UV pitching staff yielded 10 walks in the game.
Austin Taylor had a three-run double in the seventh for UV, who host Walton today.

Bainbridge-Guilford 5, Delhi 3
DELHI – Bainbridge-Guilford snapped a 3-3 tie with two runs in the top of the sixth in Monday's opening-game road win over Delhi.
Mitchell Mertz reached for B-G on a one-out double, and he scored on Zach Ouimet's follow-up RBI double. Ouimet scored an insurance run on Austin Carr's single.
Carr pitched five-plus innings to pick up the win, and Ouimet came on in the sixth and seventh to earn the save. "Carr did a nice job keeping us in the game, and he battled through," said B-G coach Tim Mattingly.
Ouimet and Sean Jones each had two hits apiece for B-G, who play at Harpursville today.

Oxford 11, Greene 11 (8 innings)
OXFORD – Greene rallied for six runs in the seventh to force extra innings, and the game was called after eight frames due to darkness in Monday's opening game for the Trojans and Blackhawks.
Ben Kinney, Jordan Harrington, and Ryan Castle had RBI singles during the Greene seventh, and the last five runs were scored with two outs. "We just have to make a play to end the game, and I hope this is something we can learn from," said Oxford coach Chris Palmer.
Oxford had an opportunity to win the game in the eighth. With a runner on third and one out, Richard Ryan hit a groundball to Greene shortstop Harrington. Harrington threw back home to catcher Dalton Brower to get the decisive second out and prevent the Oxford victory.
Kinney had three RBI for Greene, Brower also had three RBI including a two-run double in the first.
Nick Neer was credited with four RBI to lead Oxford, Jon Heggie had two hits, one of those a two-run triple, while Kyle Crawford and Kevin Davis added two hits apiece.
Oxford hosts Unatego today.
