Gallery Three-Two-One to host open house, celebrate 21 years

OXFORD – The iconic Gallery Three-Two-One, located in the Village of Oxford, is pleased to announce an open house celebration marking its 21st year of operation.
Artisan-proprietors Bill and Diane Troxell have made a life for themselves out of their passion for the arts at every level, and are now pleased to introduce an apple that fell upon roots during the event planned for Mother’s Day weekend.
While the couple have been busy creating masterful works from the Oxford location over the past 40 years, daughter Sarah Johnson has kept an ever watchful eye and absorbed both ethic and artistry handed down from her mentors. Now settling in Oxford after youthful travel and an education, Johnson –along with fiancé Ron Smith– have established a new business called Seek and Restore, and their up-cycled furniture will be featured at Gallery Three-Two-One.
Staying true to thier mission of selling, promoting and sustaining American made products, Gallery Bill and Diane – and now a second generation – “design, create and sell quality,” said Troxell.
Bill Troxell indicated that the Gallery's retail and gallery operation supports approximately 250 other local artisans who share in the local business philosophy.
The company's humble road to success was paved with nothing more than determination, a generous helping of adept skill in their craft and plain hard work.
“We've been producing pottery out of this location for 40 years,” said Troxell, discussing in retrospect how the couple began the retail end of the business among many art shows and festivals on the road.
After years of saving, the couple made a substantial investment into the once dilapidated post-and-beam dairy barn that is now home to a retail space, art gallery and production area of some of the finest hand-made pottery revered throughout the northeast.
The husband-and-wife team work seamlessly to support the continued success of the operation.
Now in its 21st year, Gallery Three-Two-One will celebrate its Annual Open on Mother's Day weekend, May 9-10. In addition to the varied and unique offerings, Gallery Three-Two-One will also thank customers with an additional 15 percent discount on merchandise, and will extend the discount throughout the entire week following the open house.
Weather permitting, the pottery producers will also be demonstrating a rare Raku firing technique –a complex Japanese firing and glazing of pottery valued for its erratic and distinctive color patterns in finished pottery.
The open house will be held at Gallery Three-Two-One, just a half-mile from the center of the Village of Oxford at 41 State St., and will be a weekend-long event, open both Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
